EPCC has appointed Daniel Guerra to the position of Dean, Communication and Performing Arts at the Valle Verde Campus. Guerra was board approved and will assume his new position on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
Daniel Guerra
Professor Guerra completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Restaurant Tourism Management (HRTM) at New Mexico State University (NMSU) and a Master’s in Business Administration at Texas A&M International University.
He is currently seeking a doctoral program in Leadership Studies. Most recently, Mr. Guerra served as the program coordinator for Culinary Arts and Related Sciences and Interim Coordinator for Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Operations.
Mr. Guerra is a proud 2005 graduate of EPCC and earned two Associate of Applied Science degrees. One in Culinary Arts and another in Restaurant Management. Two years later he began his teaching career serving as adjunct faculty for the same programs.
In 2008 he competed for a tenure track position, successfully completed the process, and joined the tenured Professor ranks in 2013. Soon after he began serving as the program coordinator for the Culinary Arts Discipline. Mr. Guerra also has extensive grant experience with USDA and NIFA as well as robust curriculum development experience.
Professor Guerra is actively involved in multiple committees and initiatives at EPCC and the community. He served on the Distance Learning Support Services Standing Committee and NMSU’s HRTM Advisory Board. Most recently, Mr. Guerra was also instrumental during the pandemic by being actively involved in ensuring students had access to meals while meeting lab needs, and assisting CTE programs with meeting similar needs for their students. Mr. Guerra has managed to make strong connections in the industry and is highly regarded in the local business community.
