From President Serrata -
EPCC prioritizes the health and well-being of our students, faculty and staff. The college will continue following the health and safety protocols that have been established as per CDC guidance for our campuses, including wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.
These simple actions will ensure that we can accomplish our educational mission safely, protect our community and ensure that our students are successful. EPCC is committed to providing a safe learning environment for our students and faculty.
This summer, the majority of classes at EPCC will continue in a predominantly online format. Some Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses, Continuing Education (CE) courses, clinicals and some labs will be offered on-site or in a hybrid format. For the fall semester, as outlined at the February Board of Trustees meeting, EPCC will offer a combination of in-person as well as hybrid and online courses to allow students to choose the course schedule that best fits their needs.
The Safe Campus Taskforce will continue to monitor CDC guidelines, local COVID-19 metrics and will also work closely with state and local authorities to implement plans and protocols that will keep our campus community healthy and well. We look forward to being together again, but as we return to a new normal, our timelines will be guided by science and safety.
Currently, a set date to begin a phased return to campus for staff has not been determined. We will continue to monitor and present the data to the Board of Trustees for consideration. As access to vaccination is expanded and the health outlook improves, we will gradually begin phasing in more services as well as employees on-site.
These updates will be shared on the EPCC website and via email as more information becomes available. For all activities taking place on EPCC campuses, masks, social distancing and other safety protocols will be followed.
We thank our students, faculty and staff for their ongoing cooperation and commitment to keeping one another well.
